The marking of leather and leather belts

cuoio

Industrial marking is extremely important in the fashion industry for several reasons: for the laws of marketing and so-called "brand awareness, for anti-counterfeiting activity, for product traceability, etc. ... but every product in this industry can be marked in different ways and with different systems. First, the material used: precious metals, fabrics, leathers, but also plastics or special materials are widely used by big brands, artisans, shoemakers or tailors for their creations. Then, the products themselves: shoes, clothes or accessories have different ways of being marked. One of the most interesting applications is the marking of leather and leather belts. Each belt must be marked with mandatory information, such as country or region of production, length of the belt, and, of course, the name of the manufacturer/company.

- Country/region of production: knowing that a leather belt is produced in Italy or France has a different "sound" than in a country less known for fashion or design
- Belt length: normally belt measurements are given in inches and cm. e.g. 110/44 means 110 cm which is 44 inches. A belt size is two inches larger than the waist measurement of the pants. Someone who wears 34″ pants will buy a 36″ belt.
- Manufacturer/company name: One of the most important pieces of information. It is critical for belt traceability, brand awareness, and anti-counterfeiting reasons. There are two marking technologies that can fit:
laser

1. Laser

2. Hot marking

Laser "burns" the skin, so we prefer to suggest hot-marking technology. With the latter, you can mark the skin, leaving a darker, hollowed-out mark (see photo on the right) or a mark with any color (photo on the left) with a colored ribbon. The color will melt away and be part of the skin forever.
